How do Atify's OTPs & 2FA work?

We use one-time pins (OTPs) and two-factor authentication (2FA) to keep your account and investments secure.

What is an OTP?
An OTP is a temporary code that confirms it's really you when making important changes or moving funds. You can receive your OTPs in two ways:

  • Email

  • SMS

What is 2FA?
2FA is an additional security layer that you can enable yourself in your account settings. Once active, it requires you to verify your identity using a second method — via an authenticator app on your device. If you have 2FA enabled, you'll receive your 2FA code directly from your authenticator app when it's requested.

When You'll Need an OTP or 2FA
You'll need to verify your identity when you:

  • Log in to your account

  • Make changes to your account details

  • Request a withdrawal

By default, your first OTP is sent via email. If you confirmed your mobile number when you signed up, we automatically enable SMS OTPs as a second layer of security alongside your email OTP.

Which Method Is Most Secure?
Using an authenticator app (2FA) is the most secure way to protect your account. If you already have SMS OTP enabled, activating 2FA will replace your SMS OTPs.

ℹ️ We strongly recommend enabling 2FA on your account for maximum security.
