What is phishing and how can I avoid being phished?

Phishing is a fraudulent attempt, usually made through email, to steal your personal information. The hackers usually attack people to steal their information such as passwords, ID and details of credit cards which can then be used to withdraw the money from their account or to blackmail the owners.

The best way to protect yourself from phishing is to learn how to recognise a phish and prevent yourself from getting caught in the phish net.

If you aren’t 100% certain of the sender’s authenticity, don’t click on attachments or embedded links as both are likely to result in malware being installed on your device.

Please be aware that the hackers might fake the emails from technical support and ask you to send your credentials via email to verify the information. Do not send your private information such as passwords, credit card or ID information by email. Please only engage with personnel emailing you from support@altify.app.

Also, do not install the updates of the application from the side resources. All the Altify App updates will only be available on Google Play and Apple App Store.
