Articles on: Verification

What are the acceptable forms of ID for verification?

For verification purposes, we require valid government-issued ID documents.

Accepted ID documents include:
Passport.
National identity card (both front and back). South African customers can also use their green ID book.
Driver's Licence (both front and back).
Other valid government-issued IDs may be accepted if they display your full legal name, photo, date of birth, and issue and expiry dates clearly on the front of the ID.

What constitutes an acceptable ID photo?
To ensure the smooth processing of your verification, here are some guidelines for the ID photo:

Acceptable:
✓ Full colour original picture
✓ All details on the ID are clearly legible
✓ The ID is in good condition
✓ The ID is in an upright position
✓ The ID occupies most of the image
✓ The background is visible all around the ID by 1-2 cm (1/2"-1")

Unacceptable:
✘ Black & white (or grayscale) images
✘ Scanned copies of an ID document
✘ Images with a watermark
✘ Blurred or obscured images
✘ ID details obscured by light glare or reflections (be cautious with a flash!)
✘ Torn, badly damaged, or hole-ridden IDs
✘ IDs rotated sideways or upside-down
✘Images with excessive space around the ID
✘Images where the edge of the ID is cropped (even slightly)

Note: We don't accept temporary identity documents for Europe or any of our supported African countries.
